As the Executive Director of the State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC), Dana Cope has secured a number of victories for state employees and retirees. Dana Cope secured the largest consecutive pay increases in two decades with a 5.5% raise in 2006 and a 4% raise in 2007.
Dana Cope also successfully sued the government to recover $130 million in escrowed retirement funds, which he then administered repayment of. Additionally, under Dana Cope, the EMPAC grew from 276th largest to the 11th largest political action committee.
Dana Cope recently signed an extension with SEANC and has been with the organization since 2000. Prior to becoming the organization's Executive Director, he worked with the North Carolina Department of Labor as the Director of Governmental Affairs. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Southern Methodist University.
